On the 8th March 2024 a ground-breaking ceremony took place to celebrate the beginning of the construction of the Rokon campus gate and fence by Canaan Construction Company. Work has now begun and is due to be completed in June 2024.

OEU is grateful to the Community of St Denys and the Episcopal Churches of South Sudan and Sudan University Partnership for making the funds for this milestone project available.

The installation of a new Vice-Chancellor and the official opening of the Episcopal University of South Sudan’s School of Law at the Bishop Gwynne Campus in Juba on Friday marked a significant milestone for the institution.

The Primate of the Episcopal Church of South Sudan (ECSS), Archbishop Justin Badi Arama, who also serves as the University’s Chancellor, graced the installation ceremony for the new Vice-Chancellor.

In a speech to the media at the occasion, Archbishop Badi emphasized the University’s dedication to provide South Sudanese children with an education founded on Christian principles.

 

At her installation, Dr Eeva John commented that “Our priority now and always has been to build a university of very high international standards with a strong and distinct Christian character. This university will play a pivotal role in building peace through higher education in this country. It will equip young people with the skills they need to contribute to the nation-building process, whole promoting unity among students from diverse backgrounds.”
